Using Simple Memo with Gmail
Learn how to set your Gmail address as the destination in Simple Memo. Takes about 3 minutes. Once set up, your memos arrive in Gmail with a single tap.
Before You Begin
- iPhone (iOS 16.0 or later)
- A Gmail address (@gmail.com) ready to use
- Access to Gmail during setup to receive the verification code (Gmail app on the same iPhone is fine)
- Simple Memo downloaded from the App Store
Setup Steps (5 Steps)

Download the app
Search "Simple Memo Fast" on the App Store, or use this direct link to download immediately. -
Open the app and navigate to Settings
When the app opens, you'll see the memo input screen. Tap the gear icon in the bottom-right corner to open Settings. -
Enter your Gmail address
In the "Destination Email" field, type your Gmail address (e.g., yourname@gmail.com). Then tap "Send Verification Code." -
Enter the 6-digit code from Gmail
Open your Gmail inbox. You'll find an email from Simple Memo with a 6-digit verification code. Enter the code in the app and tap "Verify." Check Spam or the Promotions tab if it's not in your inbox. -
Done — start sending memos
Setup complete. Type a memo on the main screen and tap Send. Your memo will arrive in your Gmail inbox almost instantly. The Free plan gives you 3 sends a day, free forever.
Tips: Organizing Memos in Gmail
In Gmail Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter, set the "From" address to noreply@simplememofast.com and apply a label like "Memos." All your memos will be auto-labeled and kept out of your main inbox.
Use Gmail's search bar to find any memo by keyword. Add "from:noreply@simplememofast.com" to narrow results to only your Simple Memo messages.

Troubleshooting
Check your Spam folder and the Promotions tab first. Search Gmail for "Simple Memo" or "verification code." If still not found after a few minutes, tap "Resend Code" in the app settings.
Check the send history in the app for the status. If it shows "Sent" but Gmail doesn't have it, check the Spam folder. Memos sent while offline are stored in Outbox and automatically resent when you reconnect to the internet.
Your organization's security policy may be blocking external emails. Contact your IT administrator or try using a personal Gmail address (@gmail.com) instead.
Custom subject lines are planned for a future update. In the meantime, use Gmail filters to auto-label incoming memos from Simple Memo for easy organization.
FAQ
What if the verification code doesn't arrive?
Check Spam and the Promotions tab. Search "All Mail" for "verification." If still missing after a few minutes, use the Resend option in the app.
Can I send memos to a non-Gmail address?
Yes. The destination email can be any address — Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo Mail, or a work email. The guide here focuses on Gmail as the destination.
How many memos can I send per day?
The Free plan allows 3 sends per day (free forever). Premium ($2.99/month or $29.99/year) unlocks unlimited sends.
Can I view sent memos inside the app?
Yes. The in-app send history shows all past memos and their delivery status.
What happens to memos I write offline?
Memos are encrypted locally using AES-GCM via Outbox architecture and automatically sent to Gmail when you reconnect. No memos are ever lost.
