Using Simple Memo with Outlook

Before You Begin

  • iPhone (iOS 16.0 or later)

Setup Steps (5 Steps)

  1. Download the app
    Search "Simple Memo Fast" on the App Store, or use this direct link to download immediately.
  2. Open the app and navigate to Settings
    When the app opens, you'll see the memo input screen. Tap the gear icon in the bottom-right corner to open Settings.
  3. Enter your Outlook address
    In the "Destination Email" field, type your Outlook address (e.g., yourname@outlook.com). Then tap "Send Verification Code."
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from Outlook
    Open Outlook. Note that Outlook has two inbox tabs: "Focused" and "Other." The verification email may land in "Other." Check both tabs, find the email from Simple Memo, and enter the 6-digit code in the app, then tap "Verify."
  5. Done — start sending memos
    Setup complete. Type a memo and tap Send. Your memo will arrive in Outlook within seconds. The Free plan gives you 3 sends a day, free forever.

Tips: Organizing Memos in Outlook

Tip 1 — Move to Focused Inbox

If the verification email or first memo lands in the "Other" tab, right-click (or long-press) the email and select "Move to Focused." Going forward, all emails from Simple Memo will automatically go to your Focused inbox.

Tip 2 — Set Up Outlook Rules for Auto-Organization

In Outlook.com, go to Settings → Mail → Rules. Create a rule that matches emails from noreply@simplememofast.com and moves them to a "Memos" folder. This keeps your inbox tidy while preserving all your memos in a dedicated folder.

Tip 3 — Quick Memo Search in Outlook

Type "from:noreply@simplememofast.com" in Outlook's search bar to see all your memos at once. Add a keyword to quickly find a specific memo from your history.

Troubleshooting

Verification code not in Focused inbox

Check the "Other" tab in Outlook. Outlook's Focused Inbox AI often places emails from new senders in "Other." Once you find it, right-click and select "Move to Focused" so future Simple Memo emails go directly to Focused.

Emails not arriving to Microsoft 365 work account

Your organization's security policy may be blocking or quarantining external emails. Ask your IT administrator to whitelist noreply@simplememofast.com, or use a personal Outlook.com address instead.

Memo sent but not showing up in Outlook

Check the send status in the app's history screen. If it shows "Sent," check your Junk/Spam folder in Outlook. Memos sent offline are held in Outbox and resent automatically when you reconnect.

Can I use a Hotmail address?

Yes. Addresses ending in @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com are all managed by Microsoft's Outlook service and work exactly the same as @outlook.com addresses.

Verification code not arriving — what should I do?

Check the "Other" tab and Junk folder in Outlook. If not found after a few minutes, use the "Resend Code" option in the app settings.

Can I disable Focused Inbox?

Yes. In the Outlook app, go to Settings → Mail → Focused Inbox and toggle it off. All emails will then appear in a single inbox without the Focused/Other split.

Does @hotmail.com or @live.com work?

Yes. These are all managed by Microsoft's Outlook service and behave identically to @outlook.com addresses for the purpose of receiving Simple Memo messages.
