Proton Mail has significantly more aggressive spam filtering than Gmail, Outlook, or iCloud. The initial verification code email may land in your Spam folder. After setup, adding the sender address to your allow list ensures all future memos arrive in your inbox. We explain the exact steps below.

アプリをダウンロードする
App Storeで「Captio式シンプルメモ」または「Simple Memo Fast」を検索してダウンロードします。またはこちらのリンクから直接ダウンロードできます。 -
アプリを起動して設定画面を開く
アプリを起動するとメモ入力画面が表示されます。画面右下の設定アイコン（歯車マーク）をタップして設定画面を開きます。 -
Proton Mailアドレスを入力する
「宛先メールアドレス」の入力欄に、メモを受け取りたいProton Mailアドレス（例：[email protected] または [email protected]）を入力します。入力後、「確認コードを送る」ボタンをタップしてください。 -
Proton Mailの確認コードを受け取る（スパムフォルダ必須確認）
Proton Mailアプリ（または mail.proton.me）を開きます。受信トレイに届いていない場合は、必ず「スパム」フォルダを確認してください。確認コードメールが見つかったら「スパムではない」をクリックして受信トレイへ移動させます。6桁の数字をCaptio式シンプルメモの確認コード欄に入力し「確認する」をタップします。 -
送信元アドレスをProton Mailの許可リストに追加する
これが最も重要なステップです。Proton Mailの設定を開き、「フィルター」→「ブロックリストと許可リスト」→「許可リスト」に[email protected]を追加します。この設定により、以降送信されるメモが確実に受信トレイに届きます。設定完了です。

Download the app
Search "Simple Memo Fast" on the App Store, or use this direct link to download immediately. -
Open the app and navigate to Settings
When the app opens, you'll see the memo input screen. Tap the gear icon in the bottom-right corner to open Settings. -
Enter your Proton Mail address
In the "Destination Email" field, type your Proton Mail address (e.g., [email protected] or [email protected]). Then tap "Send Verification Code." -
Retrieve the verification code from Proton Mail (check Spam)
Open the Proton Mail app or webmail (mail.proton.me). If the code email isn't in your inbox, check the Spam folder immediately. When found, click "Not spam" to move it to your inbox. Enter the 6-digit code in the app and tap "Verify." -
Add the sender to Proton Mail's allow list
This is the most important step for ongoing reliability. In Proton Mail Settings, go to Filters → Block list and allow list → Allow list, and add[email protected]. All future memos will now arrive directly in your inbox. Setup complete.

Proton Mail supports folders and labels, like Gmail. In Settings → Filters, create a filter for sender [email protected] to auto-move to a "Memos" folder. GTD practitioners can also create @Next, @Waiting, and @Someday labels for full GTD integration.
Memos received in Proton Mail are protected by zero-access encryption — meaning Proton themselves cannot read your notes. For highly sensitive thoughts (business ideas, personal reflections), Proton Mail is one of the most secure destinations available. Proton's mobile app also supports passcode and biometric locking for additional protection.
For long-term memo archiving, you can export Proton Mail content to Proton Drive using the Proton Mail Exporter tool. Create monthly or annual encrypted backups of your memo archive — all within the Proton ecosystem.

Search in Proton Mail's "All Mail" view. If still not found, wait 2 minutes and tap "Resend Code" in the app settings. If your Proton Mail account was very recently created, external email receiving may be temporarily restricted — this is a Proton anti-abuse measure for new accounts. Wait a few hours or contact Proton Mail support.
Confirm the allow list addition is complete (Setup Step 5). If already added, create a custom filter in Proton Mail Settings → Filters: set sender = [email protected] and action = Move to Inbox. This explicit rule overrides spam scoring for all future memos.
Proton Mail Bridge is a tool for decrypting E2EE emails in desktop clients like Outlook and Thunderbird using your private key. Simple Memo communicates directly with Proton Mail's API, so Bridge installation has no effect on Simple Memo. Bridge is neither required nor contraindicated.
Proton Mail's free plan (1GB storage, 1 address) works fully with Simple Memo. Each memo is only a few kilobytes, so storage is not a practical concern even with years of memo history. Free plan does not restrict external email receiving after account maturation.

Why isn't the verification code arriving in Proton Mail?
Proton Mail's spam filters are among the most aggressive of any provider. Check your Spam folder first. If found, click "Not spam" and add [email protected] to your allow list. If still not found, search "All Mail." As a last resort, resend from the app after 2 minutes.
Is Proton Mail Bridge compatible with Simple Memo?
Bridge is for desktop email clients using Proton's private keys. Simple Memo communicates directly with Proton's API, so Bridge has no effect on Simple Memo's operation — it's neither required nor problematic.
Should I use @proton.me or @protonmail.com?
Either works. Both aliases deliver to the same Proton Mail inbox. Use whichever address you normally use in Proton Mail.
Are my memos encrypted in Proton Mail?
